Exedy clutch question

Just wondering how many ppl are running the exedy cerametallic hd clutch and what power are you making on it? Also a quick review on it would be nice.

single plate exedy clutches are known to be very aggravating in an evo

twin disks will only last 15k-20k depending on the way you drive, these kind of clutch are not design/made for every day driving even though people use them that way...IMO if u daily drive ur car, get an act or some kind of good combination single disk and most of them handle up to 400 whp.

I would never buy an act clutch, everyone and their mom had lockout issues. It would be a daily for me but rebuilding the twin every 2 years wouldn't bother me much.

I love my exedy twin hd!! Only has a few hundred miles on it but it is great,Engages super smooth,Clutch pedal feels stock and personally,I don't mind rebuilding every 20k miles or so if need me...$450 every yr or so is nothing..

FALSE. I listened to that noise, and when I replaced my stocker at 70k miles, i went with an EXEDY organic disk...TERRIBLE clutch. I had lockout issues in every gear. That clutch gave me hell every day, and only lasted 50k miles. I went to an ACT HDSS with streetlight flywheel, and never looked back. So far I've put 40k miles on it, with zero lockout issues, and no other issues that I can think of.

there's nothing wrong with ACT clutches.

I'm with odub

I've had great success with my ACT HDSS clutch kit 25k miles and ever since I installed solid underhood shifter bushing I never see lock out issues

knock on wood

i think the twin disk is an overkill, for a 400 whp, and the chattering gets annoying too...whoever said that the pedal feels like stock i CAN guarantee you that its false and the pedal doesnt feel like a stock clutch, but as for ACT, it has been around for awhile and the lock up issue is an overblown thing, it has happened to 1% of evo/dsm owners.

Well I plan on running an fpred later and wanna make sure my clutch can take the power. I guess the old act clutches had issues then. Did they revise them?
