Adding After Market Intercooler

When putting on a performance intercooler, does the car need to be tuned afterwards to gain more power or is it just plug and play.

It'll be fine to plug and play but why would you not tune after. You'll be able to def squeeze more power out of the car. It will be less prone to cause knocking due to not heat soaking like the OEM FMIC does

The car is not stock and I didnt add the cooler.

I just picked up the car and I wanted to ask because previous owner put on tbe, walbo 255 pump, cone air filter, and then custom tuned it.

Afterwards he put a intercooler, but no tune.
Will it still gain any hp or it needs to be tuned again to maximize it.

You may gain a little power you may loose a little. No way to tell without logging before and after.

As I said best bet is to get the car tuned for max safe performance

Maybe a few hundred RPM lower spool, not much top end. I'd wait to do cams or something to get the tune...if you like saving money.

When I installed my ETS FMIC I got the 3" UICP Option which could have caused this but I was way off on A/F and knocking alot so I'd tune it but maybe add a MBC at least to play with boost.
