Lots of drivetrain noise

I'm getting a lot of drivetrain noise. I wouldn't really describe it as a "clunk" but more like a "ping". It happenss when I left over the clutch from a dead stop, it does it when I shift gears, and it does it when I brake. The sound will happen multiple times when I am coming to a stop. It kinda seems to happen whenever weight on the car shifts, and I believe it got worse when I got my alignment done. What could it be?

Need some more information. I take it it's roational or does it just sound random pinging? Does it get faster with speed? Is it faster in certain gears?

Its just a completely random sound. It doesn't get louder at any time. Almost sounds like something is hitting something. Only mods I have on the car are swift springs and intake everything else is stock.

I'd have to check, but I believe it happens both up and down, although it might happen only when its down. I will have to see.

its a long shot and the only reason i say it is because it happened to me and cost me a lot of money, did you replace the clutch? or resurface the flywheel? when a machine shop resurfaces the flywheel they pull the dowels, well mine came out, and before i could figure out what was going on they cracked the tranny case. easy to check just pull the inspection plugs and look for them. it was a completely random sound. i would describe the sound almost like running over a loose manhole cover, like a ping type sound. anyways check that out, then look at suspension components

lift the car and check the suspension components. also you could try shaking the tires to see if there are unnecessarily movement in the suspension.

Ok so it only seems to do it at low speeds... and does it whether the clutch is pressed in or not... i have never replaced the clutch myself but am pretty sure it is aftermarket from how hard it was to get used to it.

I second this, can you tell the area it might be coming from?

It's coming from the front of the car. Thats about the best I can pinpoint the noises.

I'm dealing with this same issue right now and can't figure out what it is. At first I thought it was just a drivetrain noise due to a lightweight flywheel and Carbonetics clutch because it only happened on decel in 4th and 5th gear. However, I just installed a Buschur turboback and now I'm getting a similar noise randomly at idle and in all gears accel or decel (randomly.. it only does it every now and then).

So, based off a few peoples recommendations, I'm going to look at the o2 housing heatshield and all along the bottom of the car to see if I can locate the noise. The main issue is the noise only happens sporadically and I can't seem to get the car to do it when I want it to.

I've read so many threads on this exact problem and it seems like no one knows exactly what it is.. weird.
