Salvage Title Question
some of this info is lol
not every car with a salvage title is junk, it all depends on what type of accident it was involved in
damaged frame? corrosion? not drive straight? what kind of accident you talking about? roll overs?...
i bought my evo with a salvaged title and it drives straight as an arrow, all the fenders/bumpers/doors align just right and everything works fine. Find what you're interested in with a reasonable price you can work with, drive it, get it checked out at a GOOD reputable shop and take it from there.
dj
ps; that price is a little high for a salvage and it being STOCK, i'd prob pass on this one

That one you are looking at is indeed way too much
highly doubt you'll get that car for anything near 9000$ thats lowball imo...
i'd take it to a shop that knows what they're doing and have them look over it, get all your info on your car carfax or carproof.com, drive it, look over everything, engine bay, under car, trunk, interior, push every button make sure everything works, and then make your educated decision... if you're not willing to do all that just pass it up and keep looking..
its better to spend 6 months looking for a car while sitting in a chair infront of your monitor, rather then having your hard earned cash spent on something thats gonna rape your wallet because you weren't patient or because you didn't do your homework
good luck,

I'm patient. If it doesn't check out fine, I will keep looking. And a carfax will let you know what has happened to the car. It will tell you if there's flood damage, repairs, and all that good stuff that will tell you to keep away. Thanks for all the help guys.
Had some third party experience here....
Know a guy who was working with salvage title vehicles. He would buy them in pairs, often with opposite damage. One rear end, one front end damage...or one left, one right. Literally cut the cars in half, quarters or whatever and proceed to weld them back together and assemble two salvage cars into one "working" vehicle. Not good.
I just so happen to be looking at a Civic coupe he had done...no matter how well centered you got the steering wheel...the damn car wouldnt drive straight. It looked like the wheels tracked on different planes....it was really a trainwreck.
And an Evo is just not the car to play around with if you dont know anymore than whats being presented at face value.
If there are pictures of the rebuild, receipts from reputable shops and vendors and proof of the damage it was totaled for was repaired...you still would be paying 5k too much for that car.

Ok so I called the guy about the car. I asked him why it had a salvaged title. He told me because the windows were broken out and someone stole stuff in it. But when I saw it in person you could tell were it was wrecked do to the pass front door and fender being a different shade of black and under the hood had the head light mounts glued on. I asked if he would take 10k for it, his answer was no. 15K was the price and that's all he would take. I told him that's a price of a clear titled car. He told. Me I was wrong, I sais sure and hung up. Then he had the nerve to text my cell and say I was so cool. Very shady seller.
Not All Bad
I agree with ezzey and a few of the others I bought a salvaged Evo in 2007 with 24k on it put it back together and been driving the **** out of it every since. I love the car and also got a great deal on it. All Salvage cars are not bad!!!!!! They just require a proffesional to look it over more thoroughly than a clean title car.
i buy and fix alot of salvage focus's, insurance companies are quick to total a car out.
due to labor costs and car value. Some need little repair. i recently repaired one that had tear in the bumper, blown air bags and a busted windshield. The price is too high on this car.. maybe you could talk to the person that repaired it and find out what was repaired.. maybe talk him down on his price.

Just got my IX MR salvaged with 30k miles for $15k. Paint isn't perfect, but hell, it drives great and I am not going to worry when I get a few rock chips or small scratches. But, nobody better ding my doors, I hate that.
it makes me sad that evos prices are dropping so low now a days =/ but yeh id say shoot for a lower price and before you buy it take it to a GOOD shop that knows what there doing to look at the car.
