Another alternative is to return the blow-by, oil to the oil pan. Made of stainless and is easily polished.

I like the Buschur can but it's pretty spendy. Gotta pay to play I guess!! Thought about seeing if I could score just a dipstick stem of theirs to run with a different can.

I have the Buschur one on my car, definitely like it. I decided to run one since after even running just the stock turbo I'd noticed a lot of oil in the intake, and I didn't want to start gumming up the new turbo/intercooler/piping etc. Doesn't hurt to have something on there.

comment on 06MRV8Killer post

I am concerned about what 06MRV8Killer said about AWDMotorsports saying the Greddy is not doing anything.

Anyone else, had any thoughts on this?

I looked into the: http://www.saikoumichi.com/SPLIT_DC3_page.htm

Other than the price, I think I will go with this one. I emailed him and he said he can do powdercoated colors and bare aluminum. I like the red!

I wouldn't say that the Greedy Catch Can isn't doing anything, but it isn't the best choice. A catch can with baffles/filtering media like the Saikoumichi or JCS Automation will do a much better job. I've had both types and the baffled/filtered can will collect much more oil.

My tuner suggested that I do the quick and easy route. You can use a Fram G4 fuel filter inline between the valve cover and intake snorkel. Works pretty well, only $4 and you can just change it out when you do your oil change. It's got a clear housing so you can see when it's getting filled up. So that's my approach until I find something I want to drop some cash on.
Good idea thanks!

Comments please?

I have recently been recommended that a catch can without a breather filter on top can create back pressure in the valve cover?

I was also recommended to get a catch can with -10AN lines.

I stumbled upon these 2 catch cans and I wanted to know peoples thoughts on these.

Moroso (has 3/8npt so you will need an AN to NPT adapter):

if you didn't vent the catch can it wouldn't allow the pressure in the motor to go anywhere you would actually build pressure in the motor till it went boom....

I ordered up one of the new Saikou Michi catch cans you can run when you remove the PCV. I'm going -6AN on the inlet and 1/2" on the K&N breather. They still have the baffle inside like their regular cans too so it's pretty sweet.

Saikoumichi catch cans are custom made to order, they can make them with what ever size inlet/outlet you want, in any style hose connector your interested in.

Really? JEGS for Evo parts? Really?

Come on the price? Its a little more then some but its not outrageous. You were able to pony up for the Exedy Twin, the CC should be a piece of cake.

i run one without baffles(ebay $75) and with a filter on the top and bypassed the pcv system totally. I would recommend running a baffled and filtered one if i was buying new but definately dont run a line to the intake tube. it does a good job of scavenging and vacuuming the crank case but it also coats everything in the intake path with oil. your intercooler will lose its efficiency very quickly as well as gum up the turbo eventually. i drilled and tapped the valve cover with 3/8ths npt to 8an lines on both the pcv side and the end near the water neck and have no issues blowing the dipstick out at 30lbs of boost. i currently have a 35r on a 2.2 gsc stroker which was built with a lil looser tolerances for high boost applications so i have more crankcase pressure than a stock engine.

I was in the performance shop looking at the AN connectors and picked up a catalog. Which AN connector did you use to connect to the valve cover to bump it up to 8AN? So far all I have found is this option from stmtuned for 6AN.

http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...r_fittings.htm

How did you decide on 8AN? I was recommended 10AN, but the only way I found to do that was to weld a bung onto the valve cover. I do not want to do this because it messes up the powdercoat and it is hard to weld to magnesium.

Also, I have been told that the Buscher is the only one that works the best because it recirculates the oil back to the oil pan, but it is over $200 with no AN lines???
