stock cat 02 sensor

stock cat 02 sensor

so i hve a question before install on my test pipe/downpipe !

does most people remove the 02 sensor in the stock cat OR put a BUNG in the test pipe...

i got an megan downpipe with a bung on the end with 02 sensor for my AEM wideband... do i need to put another one in test pipe?! or installl test pipe and remove the Engine light..

you need to get a spacer for the 02. its not in the cat its behind it your test pipe will fit in between your two sensors. you need to space the sensor behind the cat out so that it reads no change in your exhaust and will not throw a code. thats what i just did with mine

ok, i guess i buy the car with a rear sensor in lesss cause i got an HKS hi-power for cat back and no sensor on it .

go to your local auto parts store and find the Help! section... they have a spark plug rethreader. Weld in bung to test pipe, screw said spark plug rethreader in, and screw 02 sensor into that. It backs the sensor out roughly 2", making it not read the "true flow" being its no longer sticking into the test pipe, but in the void space of the spark plug rethreader. Wont throw any codes!!! Just be sure to check the 02 sensor wire that its not touching the frame rail, otherwise itll rub and ground out, throwing your CEL!!
