SBR 2.4 FP Black Build

Well I have recently joined the Evo world of 2.4 FP black. I have heard many problems with Slowboy and there 2.4 block and all the people that have bad mouth them. I must say so far in to the build the motor has held solid. Now Im not saying that my build went smooth......but with some elbow grease all has worked out for the best. I ordered my short block back in June. I had about an hour long conversation with Joe about everything. Afterwords I felt confident to place my order. I asked for the motor to be expedited. He was honest with me and said he might not be able to do it. I was ok with it and placed the order in anyways. 3 weeks later no conformation on the motor or anything. So I called.....and called.....and called. FINALLY someone picks up the phone and its news I didn't want to hear. They are down a tech and ALL motors got delayed. I wasn't as mad because Joe was honest and said he didn't know if he could get the motor done in 3 weeks. So I waited.....and waited....and waited some more. 6 weeks of waiting I called for a status update. They said that Manley sent them the wrong pistons or rods...something like that and I would be delayed a few more days. On the start of the seventh week I get a call from Joe saying the motor was being picked up from the shop to be sent out. GREAT one week late but I understand, s**t happens. So i receive the motor and I break it open. This motor is SOOOOOOO tight I can't even turn the crank by hand. Needless to say I was pissed. I call SB the next day and get answers that I want. After the motor was built they cleaned the assembly lube off it for shipping. Never heard that but the I was like ok I'll put some lube in and see how things work out. I was expecting the worst. I got the opposite. We put lube in it and left it alone over night. The next day the block is a stud. It was like night and day. It was built tight which is good and now it is slowly loosing up. After about 3 days we have it in with the FP black and supporting mods i.e FMIC, Injectors...blah blah blah. Now we are ready to crank it up. It cranks up after we prime the motor. Its starts right away. NO ISSUES. The car has about 500 miles and I have not had one issue so far. From what I can tell SB has made this block solid. I have about 500 more miles to go before I tune it and I'll post the numbers than. Joe thanks for your help and honesty...it goes a long way now and days.
