Went to the track today, but never made it.....

UPDATE ON POST 18
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/8783487-post18.html

---------------------

I was hoping to run a 10.5 or better at 130+ mph today on the stuck turbo, but I never made it to the track, and this happened on the way:

Now, let me Tarantino it for you:

Yesterday, I went up to STM to hang out, and Emery wanted to throw the car on the dyno and pull more power out of it  After about maybe 2 hours, we got the car to run WAY better idle, and then picked up 10 whp and 14 ft/lb peak out of the car. It's now running 34 psi, and acting so nice!!

So then, with my track record of blowing up transfercases, we replaced the weak open diff transfercase I had in there to get me around, with a new RS transfercase built by Buschur Racing. This case is shimmed, preloaded, and has the good LSD front diff that does not break, it's cool. So, we pulled my old one out (even though it was fine), and played it safe and put this one in.

Then today, we met up at the shop at 11 or so, to get ready and go to the track. We left around noon or so, got on 390S, and were on our way. About 5 miles away, going towards Geneseo, my car felt like it locked up. I am still not sure what happened, if my rear end locked up, something bad happened with my new transfercae or what, but I have some of the best in the business to figure out and fix the problem for me, so I am not worried at all. Unfortuantly, I was not able to race today.

But..... while on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck to arrive, cars were going by, and I assume looking to see what happened to mine. At that point, 3 cars were involved in a really bad accident about 100 yards or less from my car. An Aztec was on 2 wheels, ended up in a ditch, a truck in the other ditch, and a car was cut near in half in the middle of the road. It was bad!

Then about 2 minutes later, cars were coming up over the hill, and at least 2 more cars ended up rear-ending each other. We finally got traffic to slow down to stop the accidents from happening, and then the cops showed up and shut the road down, etc...

All in all, at least 5 cars were majorly wrecked right in front of me. Luckily, neither myself or any of our friends following me were involved in any accidents. Crazy though!

I run a stock 9 turbo, not 8, but yes. With 402 whp, I ran a 10.635 in my car. I have 10 more peak, but quite a bit more mid-range, so I think it will go lower 10's now.

That's impressive! What's your cars weight?

Let's see some pics of the car--must be pretty if it caused so many accidents

Not sure yet, but STM is going to check the car out, and find out if it's an axle, rear end, or transfercase / transmission problem, and go from there. The car was just going 40 mph when it happened, and felt like the wheels locked up, but it was hard to tell. It was not good.

The transfercase is a brand new, 0 mile build from Buschur Racing though, so I don't think it would have just let go, unless it had some flaw in the material of some part. We will figure it out quickly I'm sure, it's just too bad I wasn't able to make it to the track.

I am thankful this happened while going 40 though, and not 130 at end of the 1320

Search for "Lana" and check out my build thread. Before me, Most-Wanted owned it and he did huge things with it as well. It's a really good , dialed-in drag race chassis.

With me in it, it weighs 2680.

And yeah, she's pretty

Maybe it was a good thing that you had a mechanical issue?

You might have been involved in the accident you saw and have to be fixing more than just the transfer case?

I like your car though, looks like a lot of time and effort put into it.
