making an imported evo street legal

hey everyone
I am thinking about buying a 96 evo 4 from this guy about three hours away from me. its a right hand drive from Japan. he says the car is not street legal. what would i have to do to make the car street legal. and about how much would it cost. i live in georgia in a town that doesnt require emissions tests if that helps

Your better off buying a newer evo or just not driving that on the streets. Too many things need to be changed, and I'm not getting into them since they're not legal.

making it street legal would legally not be possible other than a show/xxx type of exception

it's more trouble than it's worth and you still might end up with a car that serves no purpose but a track car

If you have the right amount of money and about 3 months waiting patience. it can be done.

right money not being no 1k. haha
go up up up and away from that

P.S. i know who your talking about. its no secret. its the Korean guy and its a silver evo 4 and he wants 16k.

The only easy way to get it done would to be have titled as a Kit car. I dont know how georgia's title laws work but in alabama you could have it street legal fairly easily. But the biggest issue is that it is only legal in the state you title it in, out of state trips, or the feds could eventually be knocking on the door.

It depends how stingy your titling department is. Al we do here is a vin check and its done pretty much. The police/laws are very lenient here towards vehicles. Theres quite a few rhd imports here actually. I dont know if you have seen those mini japanese trucks that are rhd but theres at least 5 in my town.
