Intercooler upgrade.

My car is tuned with 360whp with the stock intercooler. If i would just swap in another bigger intercooler will that affect the tune and will it damage my engine in anyways?

So you guys said all gain no pain. But do I really need to re-tune the car?

Absolutely need one? No.

Depending on your setup, I would do other things (piping, cams, etc.) then tune. Save some money.

Like I said my car is tuned already. As of now it has 272 cosworth cams, forge bov and mbc, k$n intake, full turbo back exhaust, upper and lower pipes and act clutch. The only thing could have been upgraded was the intercooler.

In that case I would look into fuel. Bigger injectors, pump, E85 if possible then tune it for a huge improvement.

It's not going to affect the tune all that much.

However, because the air will be cooler, you will have the possibility of going up in load a bit.

Do you have a wideband O2 sensor installed? If so, see what the air-to-fuel ratio is when you go wide open throttle. As long as its safe, your fine

You should definitely invest in Evoscan so you can log !

I was just about to post a post like this, because I am actually upgrading to a 4" ETS front mount intercooler ( installing it tomorrow, hopefully) and i had the exact same question. everyone says its all good and that at most i might lose a pound or 2 of boost. however i am really **** when it comes to my car and don't want to screw anything up on it.

Ive got gsc s1 cams, licp, full 3" exhaust, wal. fuel pump, couple other minor things, a custom tune, and now a 4" fmic. will this be okay to put on or should i really just hold off till i get some more things then have it all installed and tuned?

also i hear a lot about Evoscan, where can i get one and how much do they run? i think this would for sure be a great investment
