Why is my turbo timer transponder box ticking?

Anyone have ideas why its making a ticking noise? I jiggled it around a bit its not because of vibration against anything So I'm really confused. I'm pretty sure it's the box thing, I'm not sure what exactly it's called but it's the box in the picture here

This is how it sits in the car, but like I said I've held it and it's not rattling against anything - just ticking inside. I'm 99% sure it's a new noise (ie, didn't make this noise when I first bought the turbo timer), I'm pretty sensitive about this sort of thing.

The techs at the dealer held the mic up to in and they said this is the part making the ticking noise. I tried to take a video but its not loud enough over the idle etc.

Anyone have this/know what's causing this?

It is the Control Unit, FYI

Something interesting - when the car's electronics are all on (key in "on" position) it doesn't make the noise... but when the car's engine is turned on, it starts ticking... any ideas? I am making sure it's not just vibrating against something btw...

real question is why u need one to begin with

Clicking usually means relay turning on and off, Im guessing a poor connection somewhere turns the relay on or off. Check your ground and connection

thanks, but isn't it still strange that it's only ticking when the motor is on, but not when the electronics are on? maybe it is vibrating against something... kind of doubt it though

There are wires under the dash that are only live when the engine is running. Check and see where the timer is getting its voltage source from.

yea i mean i'll have to take a look under when i get a chance but it definitely is a recent occurrence.

i talked to hks and they said i could have fried the circuitboard when i disconnected the battery.. which i did do when i installed the cop. pretty lame though, what am i supposed to do if i wanna work on something? i'll probably end up just purchasing another one. i cant live with this ticking noise its seriously so loud
