Just picked up an evo, having some problems.
Hey guys Im new to this site, I just picked up a 03 Evo a few weeks ago. It ran great all the test drivers I took it, but it was 3 hours away so I only made 2 trips. It ran fine when I was driving it took it out for about 45 min. Only bad thing was a small grind into 3rd. So I got it home and there was a bad oil leak. I guess when he did the timing belt he forgot to put a o-ring back in, so I got that fixed.
I was driving it the other day and did a 2nd and 3rd gear pull, in high RPM it hit fuel cut in 3rd around 5500-6200 but it only does it in 3rd gear and has to be shifting from 2nd to 3rd and on the gas. I saw a few people with the same problem that I had but did not get any answers on what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
Also the car is almost stock, stock turbo intake and down pipe but cat back is aftermarket and bigger FMIC. The motor looks like it was built at one point since its not common to put a exhaust temperature gauge unless you have a built motor.
Thanks guys.

Does it have an aftermarket boost controller? If so you may want to try and turn the boost down for now. You are hitting fuel cut because you are either over boosting, running too lean or the car still has some old tune in it from when it had other parts on it.
No thats what i thought that there was one and someone turned it up but i look every where for one and there is nothing.

Ok I will look at the plugs they might be wrong cuz in the auto zone book they give the wrong oil filter size so they might have the wrong plugs also
