Original 2003 battery

Never really took much notice until today. Yeah, I only have 8600 original miles, but that's pushing 8 years (bought new Apr 2003) on the stock Mitsu battery. Probably should replace it, but it's starting/working just fine.

Are they still that good, worth buying another?? I've been driving/wrenching for almost 25 years now (owned at least 40 different vehicles) and no other battery has gone longer than 5 years. As I said, since I don't drive it much, I never even thought about it before today.

a stock battery usually 3-5 years, if you get more outta them your lucky, if it works just leave it, unless you start to have problems starting your evo..

I'd replace it at this point just so you don't get stranded. I've had older batteries die with little notice

Hard to believe, but another year and she still starts, even in 20 degree weather (which is about as cold as it has gotten here so far this winter). Think I'm going to go for 10 years It must the low mileage, only put about 500 miles last year.

Still rockin the OEM battery in my 2002 2.4L tacoma 4x4 with 135,000 miles. I can't believe it's still in there. I'm not replacing it till it fails though just to see what it will do.

I always feel lucky if I can get more than 5 years out of a battery.
