So the wires to my aem wideband got cut by my alternator. It got cut before the sensor connector so I can't just get a new sensor....

my question is can I just use connectors and connect the wires together? I'm not sure how sensitive the wideband sensor is and I don't want a wideband that's not accurate because that's just worthless.

Just reconnect the wires...it makes no difference unless the wire was actually bad.

Just solder them together. Should be good to go.

It should not effect the outcome of the reading from the sensor. Just make sure your soldering connections are solid and the wires are correctly insulated. All the sensitivity is in the sensor.

Use flux and clean the connection good, I am a electronics tech so I can tell you flux is going to make a big difference, it cleans the joint and helps the solder flow a lot better.

Solder and heat shrink. I agree with the use of flux and staight solder. The solder that requires no flux tends to leave residue behind.

just solder them back together, shrink wrap them and you'll be fine.

Since your wires were cut and you didn't unplug the o2 sensor from the bung, you probably damaged the sensor. The o2 sensor needs to be powered when hot exhaust gases flow from the engine. It says this on all wideband instruction manuals.
