Trouble Starting... Looking for more ideas.
Bought the car in July... FP Red, cams, bigger injectors, walbro..
Had been daily driving it, went on trip, didn't drive for about a week... won't start.
Battery voltage is fine, it'll crank all day... At first i thought frozen fuel since it's been cold, but A/F shows rich of stoich. when cranking...
Tried it off and on over about a week span... get a couple hits on a few cylinders... but no fire.
Can PM/email my rom if anyone thinks it might help, but really kinda baffled. I looked through it, and didn't see anything that looked outta place for cold weather stuff... no majorly warped maps.
Sits in an unheated garage, it's been around 30-35 every day for the past week or so.. did have a few days that were a high of like 10 about a week ago...
Never had any starting issues with this, or any other evo i've owned in the past.
Suggestions?

eh, no idea how i'd blow it... just checked underhood, didn't see what I would call an ignition fuse... I'll check the service manual, maybe i'm just overlooking that one.
other than that... no clue at all... it'll crank forever and then almost hit on a cylinder or two, but never really "pop" or "pop pop puh pop pop..." ya know?

+1 Pull a plug and with the wire still attached, have some one crank to see if the plug is sparking. I'm not sure if that's the safest, but it was hassle free for me.
You can see if your getting fuel to your engine by taking off the fuel line to your rail and having it route to a clear bottle and see if fuel pours out when cranked.
These might be backyard mechanic way's and there are probably better ways to check but this is how i've always done it.

Hold the pedal to the floor as you crank it, it should fire right up, as soon as it does though let off the gas a bit.
My car does the same thing with my Walbro in. If I just try and start it normal, it wont fire, it'll just flood and foul plugs.
I'm not sure how to "fix" your problem, this should just be a band aid to allow you to get around it.

when you turn your key to the 'on' position you should be able to hear your fuel pump. That can give you an idea if its your pump. Make sure none of the wiring got chewed up by mice. I have seen it alot where cars that have been sitting get rodents chewing up on harnesses. Look for any signs of nests or rodent activity as well. Your battery could have taken a dump. Unless you test it to make sure, just because you read voltage the battery may have a bad cell and not be able to provide the amperage. I would actually hook up a battery tester on the battery and see for sure.

well, finally got a few minutes to check it today.. can't tell about spark, but now thinkin i'm getting fuel.
Pulled the cover off under the rear seat, pulled the vent line back and got fuel coming out with force... which is telling me i've got fuel pressure...
checked all the fuses inside the car, and under the hood.
Pulled the ignition cover off over the plugs, they look good, good connection, but again, didn't have anyone to check spark.
It now will crank and semi-hit on a few cylinders (got up to 60 here today, had been freezing.)
Still nothing concrete, and still super confused on why it'd just take a crap all of a sudden..

In a no start condition you have 1 of 3 possible problems, spark, fuel and compression. Check for spark (see above), check to make sure your getting fuel pressure (you can check to make sure that the fuel pump is whining by listening in the gas door, or you can unplug the fuel rail (messy)). Lastly if these prior tests don't come up with anything, then do a compression check (possibly could have jumped timing, bent valves, broken piston rings, bad head gasket, etc).

i'm leaning back towards the pump again.. because it is a walbro... and i'm not hearing a whine... but I definitely didn't remember hearing it whine if the car wasn't running though...
Looks like it's time to order a replacement.
