6 speed to 5 speed

hey this might be a dmb question bt will a 5spd tranny bolt right into a mr? if not what else is needed?

Yes, it'll bolt on. You'll want the 5 speed shifter assembly as well.

thanks for the info one other question is wold 7s 8s an 9s trannys all work?

You will need the following 5 speed parts- shifter base, shifter cables, shift linkage bracket, tranny side mount, 5 speed sensor harness.

You will also likely need the 5-speed center console, although alot of people continue to run the MR console.

The parts from the dealer are pretty expensive; best to look in the classifieds to see who is parting out a 5-speed Evo.

You can pick up a used tranny for ~$1,000; your 6-speed is basically worthless in the open market unless it is 100% operational.

If you aren't 100% comfortable doing the conversion yourself (it's not that complicated) then contact Baierl Mitsu and ask for Mike as he's really the only trustworthy person in W. PA that I know of. G/L

ok cool thanks alot man do you think all of the stuff needed is included with a transmission? like if i buy one from a junkyard or something
