I purchased one and waiting for it to come in. I figured if it was on the front I would mask the whole center area and repaint it.

I looked around ebay and it seems like other sellers are offering the same intercooler without the defect for $160-170 range.

Ya I just found those also, but if you read the description those are universal intercoolers. Got to be careful on ebay because they will try and trick you into a purchace. I did alot of research before I purchased mine and that price is a steal.

Sounds good, didn't know they were universal intercoolers. Also if the lettering is on the back of the intercooler than it's a pretty good deal for sure.

UPDATE: I received my intercooler today from the ebay auction, all I can say is what I steal I got. This is a great looking intercooler and it does have the Mishimoto emblem sprayed upside down on both sides of the intercooler. No problem with that I picked up a can of silver/aluminum spray paint and am going to mask off the flat sides and spray the fins only. You will never be able to tell and saved a bunch. It also only took 3 days to get it.

I know this is an old one but this is the one you are talking about. Except it is all gold.

also, if you look at the top of the box the intercooler is sitting on I can say for sure it is a mishimoto box.

Here is my box:

So if I were you guys I would buy it. It appears they have only 10 left.

No that is not the same one. The mounting brackets are different and the word "Mishimoto" is spelled out. Box is also different. It is a great looking intercooler.

Well my box is different because it the "Eat, Sleep, Race" special edition intercooler. Just because of the gold. But the words written across the top are the same and the way it was stapled is the same as well. I should have clarified on the box similarities. I think I have seen the one you are talking about though. A long time ago. Im still interested in the pics of the one he received. Especially the part on the bottom that says mishimoto. He however wont have the metal plate at the top that says mishimoto since that is the warranty. It comes with a serial number on that plate.

Just an FYI, the stock intercooler on Evo's 7 through 9 are made by TRC Japan (Toyo Radiator Co)

Also, Mishimoto is an american company that opened its doors in 2003.

So no, they do not make the OEM charge coolers.

Also, their products are of reasonable quality, but not what I would call "great" quality. Definately better than Godspeed , Exoticspeed, "etcspeed" Ebay-sold brands, but nowhere near the quality offerings of our evom vendors.

I've only heard good things about their radiators, but I can't say the same about their intercoolers.

If you're looking for something to replace an OEM cooling component, then sure, Mishimoto is fine. I would stay away however from ANY aftermarket thermostat. The stock one is fine and not expensive and would be the last component to cheap out on, which could cost you an engine or turbo in the long run due to a simple failure.

Good find, happy shopping and post some results please!

I'm interested to see if this performs better than the stock intercooler.
The stock core is virtually the same size.

Mishimioto Core size: 19.33" x 11.42" x 2.7" Delta wedge
Stock Core Size: 19.31" x 11.5" x 2.69" Tube and fin
