throw another curve in the mix. Cutout and ported 02.. Cutouts are claiming 20-30HP when tuned for but anyone tried open dump then cutout..

 

I love my mapperformance o2 dump. worth every penny. they are loud when the want to be.

 

Maybe just don't hit full boost in the driveway...

I have had both 2.5" tubular recirc housing and an O2 dump on my built evo 3. Personally for an everyday driver I prefer the recirc, and the power difference between the two depends on the frame of turbo you are running....On small framed turbos like stock it isn't a huge difference. However if its just a weekend warrior, and you are trying to squeeze every last bit of power. dump works.

My evo 3 is now my weekend warrior as my evo 7 is now my daily. I created my own custom 3" 02 housing since no actually builds that size for the stock sized bolt-on housing. Not only did I want to make as much power as possible, but I also want to scare the retarded *** scooter gang here when I crack the wastegate

 

everyone that had a o2 dump. come on the first time you were WOT and heard it you didnt smile/laugh. its fun and worth it IMO.

i have the MAP o2 housing...but still on stock turbo...recently i was thinking about whether or not i should keep it...
because from what ive been reading...the dump on the stock turbo isnt helping as much as it would on a bigger turbo...

Qft . I had a wrx with a Mvs 38 and a Gt spec header with 3 bolt up,.... something to be said for 325 ftlbs at 3k. Ever been hit on the back of the head with a 2x4?

 

First. O2 dump FTW. Why do you think aftermarket turbo kits come with external gates? Because it works...

Second. I'm sick of people saying the noise isn't worth the gain. On my car I gained 40hp and who gives a **** about the noise? You only hear the dump when the wastegate opens. So only when you are at full throttle. If you are at full throttle you will get a racing ticket. the cop is not going to worry about an open dump. desides your exhaust is screaming at WOT aswell.

I think it is just rediculous for people to say the noise is to much. I have not heard my dump in 2 months... Why? Beacuse I have not got on my car, just been normal driving and enjoying not having any tickets.

I have a stock exhaust with a cutout at the back so its nice and quite around time but I can still give people something if I need too without even opening my cut out!

 

lol, my external wastegate vents through the hood, I wouldn't gripe about just an open dump.
