I cant hear it break up over the dump lol, but if its doing what mine does its a boost controller issue that nbc is set at x amount of boost and you might be overboosting and getting fuel cut. I get it in 6th gear but I have a exspensive ebc that allows fine tuning of gears and speed if I want. I would look at a difderant plug as well maybe a step colder I have a VIII and I use NGK BR8ES.

My car was doing the same thing I replaced the plugs and at first it was great then now after the car is warmed up and I put it at full boost for the first time it breaks up but then after that it's fine. Also when I'm in 5th at full boost does the same thing after a couple seconds at full boost. Don't know what else it could be changed the oil valve cover gasket and tube seals ran seafoam threw it still does it but it's only when hitting full boost.

I thought this too, i have a forge manual boost controller, i tried my spare forge, AND my brothers hallman.. Still did it..
.... I was thinking about trying a step warmer possibly? ngk only offers the LFR_A-11's in a 5 or 6 heat. Im almost positive 6 is stock for the evo ix's and im 100% positive the evo 8's use the BR_ES plugs which as significantly shorter and do not sit in the cylinder head the same.

yeah mine are all gapped to .028 i believe..

Im going to yank the plugs tomorrow morning and regap all of them to .024 maybe it could be something as stupid at that.. Who knows?? i've yet to try that.

hmm what the hell could this be..

update: i re-gapped my plugs to .022
When i took them out it seemed as if the gap had somehow got bigger since i installed them last. the biggest gap that my spark plug gapper goes up to is 0.28(i dont like those circular ones)
and they were bigger than .028... Weird..

but yeah, since this morning gapped at .022 the car has been running GREAT. Like a friggen monster it pulls. seems like its running better than ever now..
Lets just hope it stays this way!

thanks guys! much appreciated

Gap is huge. My 8 I stepped into the BR8ES as well and gapped to .24 from stock and it runs much better. I'm still throwing a missfire code but thats just because I lucked out and have an 8 not a 9... lol

good luck and keep watching those plugs even if the car is running perfect. .22 sounds a little tight but i'm not a 9 owner so I don't really know what they like. I'd check them at least once a week for a bit just for peace of mind so you can fall asleep (I don't know if i'm the only one who looses sleep about car issues.. haha)

Well i read around and for the 9's i saw that it was suggested to gap from .020 to .024 so i figured .022 was right in the middle.

P.s. dont worry i loose sleep about car issues too, haha
