RS has a helical LSD like the stage 2 from shep (used to be anyway, I looked at the site and now it says its a Mitsu Rally Sport LSD). Before, the shep stage 2 was basically a built RS T case. They are better for traction. I broke mine and went to the quaife which is still the stage 3 from SHep.

Rallying does not allow ACD so they put LSD TCs in RS models. (somebody correct me if I am wrong)

I'd only do the transmission if you're ready to do the clutch, flywheel, and throw out bearing all at the same time to save money on labor.

I would build the t-case and tranny at the same time since you're gonna have both of them out at the same time.
