has anyone ever taken off the evo 9 antenna

you should buy a small nubby antenna, i took my friends honda s2000's antenna and it works great.....i should properly tell him that he now has a evo's atenna lol

You can remove the whole assembly by dropping the head liner, and removing the 10mm or 12mm nut underneath. GL.

I got the perrin stubby antenna and it looks great, compared to the long stock one. It was like $20-30.

If you want to pull out the whole assembly for the antenna base than yeah you may need to. If you are just planning to replace your antenna with a shorty than you don't have to remove the vortex generator, just twist the old one off.

Maybe you can post some pics so people know how your set up is and what the problem is.
