Catch Can

Is a catch can really worth it? Do they really do what there suppose to do or is it an "extra" to add to the engine bay

they are not just for looks lol. blow by is positive pressure in the crankcase caused by combustion gases leaking past the piston rings. even healthy engines have some degree of blow by, as it's virtually impossible for the rings to form a 100% air tight seal. hope this helps

Yah but once we start to push then engine more then its design, more blow-by is created.

A properly made Crank vent system will not only help make more power, but make the engine last longer by protecting the oil from contaminates.

I agree. I should have been more clear that as hp/tq and boost increase then it becomes more necessary.

This. Also, when buying a catch can, make sure it's a functional one, or if you buy some cheap one from ebay, make it functional ( there's a how to around here...)

Add some -10 AN fittings to your valve cover if possible and get a catch can made by Andrew Kisner of Frontline Fabrication. I think he's going to be tackling a catch can for Evo's soon

I heard once you start to go up in power and boost you'll want to get one. And since I got me a few new things for this year I decided to get one lol just bought a Greddy one on here for a good price. But I'd say once you start going pass 450 and up in HP I'd get it.
