What would it take?: Evo versus GTR
To beat a GTR at the road course is very possible with not TOO much cash. Def not the 20K+ said. Now to beat one at a freeway race you will need that 20K+.
A PROVEN formula to beat one, as I saw it the other week.
GTR on upgraded tires and Cobb ap
EVO= 9 RS, E85, int & exh porting, good coilover setup, good breaks ( alcon 6 puck), good fmic and short rout piping, a good COP set, upgraded clutch, good tune, good tire and wheel combo ( this case Volk CE28s and nitto nt01s). Cap it off with a fast driver.
GTR driver is a good driver too.

Has anyone considered power to weight ratios?
In stock trim, I found the GTR to have a 9.3:1 ratio. No driver weight at 3829lbs & crank HP noted as 485 (Reduced 15% driveline loss noted as 412WHP)
My modded EVO (Stock motor internals / Only an E85 conversion) was found to have a 7.9:1 ratio. No driver weight at 3200lbs (RS Model) & a Dyno Jet no. of 407WHP

I think both cars are amazing beautiful, luxirous and has the power..but if someone cant afford a GtR then should settle for an Evo..then they are some people who die hard Ralli fans so its really up to the driver and what he prefers..i dont understand why everyone gettin mad it was just a question..and the asnwer is simple "Buy what you like"
there is a you tube video of a comparison of the gtr vs the fq400 evo X... just type in fq400 and google it...video comes up on page 2---they are really closer then you would think---gtr faster 0-100 and back to 0, evo fq400x better handling in the slolom, and gtr pulled a couple of .01's better on the skid pad....so it all depend on how you are measuring " what it would take to beat a gt-r."

WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? THE GTR SEEMS LIKE AN OVERWEIGHT PIG
You are missing putting the GT-R on E85 and raising its boost.
