Need more information. Evo 8? Evo 9? It's easily going to cost $2,000, and that's if you buy everything used and do all the work yourself.

Ive been doing a lot of research on this. With 93 octane and full bolt-ons + cams you're looking at 350-360whp. To push it to 400 it seems you need a turbo upgrade. Depending on if you buy new or used it could cost up to $5k or more.

Fuel pump $100
O2 Housing $150
Downpipe $200
Catback $750
Ported manifold $150
Intake $200
BOV (some say optional) $200
Injectors $350
Cams $750
FMIC w/ piping $1000
Turbo upgrade $1700
Tuning $500

Other stuff:
Clutch, tires, brakes, other stuff that wears out quicker with more power.

It adds up quick. Of course these are rough estimates and it'l be more if you can't install it yourself.

^ your prices seem a bit high on a few items. Best bet it to just keep searching in the for sale threads and buy used parts. You will save a lot. Its also a good idea to check the condition of your engine before tossing on parts. Compression test...make sure all fluids are done exc. Also changing the throttle body seals would be a good idea since 99% of them leak.

Search through the dyno results thread. Find cars with 400 whp on 93.
99% of the time the mods are listed.
Price out the mods.
Little leg work ppl

Seriously in all realilty the best mods you can do are just intake Full TBE and tune. It cost like 1200-1500 bucks and will net you the biggest gains. Its all deminishing returns and loss of drivablility from there on out.

I had 400 with a shearer .50 trim kit on 22psi(dynojet) on 93. Supporting mods were a walbro 255, intake, 845cc injectors, tbe, hks 280 cams. Don't remember the cost of it but that setup will give you 400 on an evo 8

if your going from stock expect to spend $3,000-$4,000

you wont hit 400whp on stock turbo with 93 only. you can do it on e85 or pump and meth

i have not lost any drivability with cams and 1200cc injectors so no its not diminishing returns/loss of drivability.

a few posts up one of the people here listed prices and they are pretty close to what you'll spend on parts to get to 400whp, none of the prices are over exaggerated.

No way he wont have to spend anywhere near that to get to his goal on pump
