actually i had a pretty good thought this morning... just didnt get to post...

if it pauses and then never peaks... you said that your heat shields are dented... it really could be possible that the gate attempts to open... hence the pause... and then touches the shields and locks so it cant bleed off anymore power... hence the endless spike...

if you use a helper spring then the turbo eventually will peak and open the gate... but if its pressed into something immovable then its wont no matter the boost...

If that's the case is it okay to run without the shields or would I need to replace?

i have ran about 20k without the heat shields... i've never noticed any ill effects.... to include some peoples concerns about the heat damaging the exhaust cam sensor....

its possible it might raise coolant temps faster but the thermostat and fans take care of that before they get to high...

Okay I installed the new wastegate. Still no change in the boost problem I checked every line too. Okay here is my set up. I have a mbc but it's currently bot connected until I figure this out. I have one Line about three feet long from the turbo outlet nipple to the wg nipple. Then I have the stock solenoid plugged in with no hoses to it. The intake hole for stock vacuum line is capped off. Then I have the stock line from the bov to the intake manifold hardline. This is where I am tapping my boost pressure from. It still builds slow in low rpms and then at about 4k it boosts like crazy. Idk what else to try the wg is hooked up every line is clamped tight. It's stock turbo aftermarket exhaust and downpipe. Stock o2 housing I think I'm not 100% on that. Do you need the pills for the vac lines with this setup or with the mbc? I have all new lines and I'm pretty sure there are none
