who has Fiber Images CF hood?

sup guys. i am looking for feedback on the fiber image CF hood. ''oem style'' mainly i want to know how it is holding up and how is it at high speeds. does it shake around or flex? and how long have you had it. also how is fitment.

right now i have a seibon CF hood. fitment is 8/10 but its just beet to hell. has a few cracks in it and its heavier then stock. i want to replace it with something else and my eye is on the fiber images cf hood. its lighter then stock and from what i can see from pics it fits well. i have there trunk and it is light as hell and fits like OEM. so now i want there hood. thanks to those who help me out.

I think the general consensus on this site is Seibon/Fiber images/Deft are all kinda the same. Quality is ok and fitment is sometimes hit or miss.

Good carbon fiber hoods around here I considered like a Robispec 800 + hood.

From my Honda days Fiber images and Seibon seemed to be bout the same in terms of quality and fitment.

quality of fiber images VS seibon is to different things. i have both. the seibon hood i have is garbage. the fiber image trunk is much better quality. lighter, fits better. robi spec hoods are made by fiber image or downforce composites.

I had a fiber images oem hood on my old Evo. Fitment was pretty close to oem, I never noticed any shaking at speed, etc. Not full carbon though. Reinforcement was FRP, so I don't know what the weight difference btw stock was.

for my opinion i would just go to a body shop and have them order CF vinyl and cover the hood =] (if its available in your area) i'm taking my car tomorrow to a shop down here in killeen texas that does it and he told me that he has CF available now. i'm getting my roof done gloss black since i'm not really in to the whole cf exterior.

I had a FI hood on my Maxima, and it was badd azzz. It was flimsy (very thin, only 1 layer of carbon) but the light weight was well worth it- I liked the fact that I could push the hood in and it popped right back into shape). A while ago, they had some video's on their site of guys driving over the hoods, bouncing all kinds on stuff off ladders, etc.. (funny stuff, but showed the durability) The only thing I didnt like was the "un rolled" edges- carbon just stopped- Very nice hood in my opinion, and I have experience with a lot of different manufactures.

I've ahd three Seibon hoods. I agree with the past statements, some are hit or miss. My first one was fantastic. Fit perfect. Second one, not so much, Third one fits great.

Here's what I learned. Since the coating on the CF is thin if you wash the car after you just drove it the clearcoat will crack and then you will get the CF to turn yellow.

So again...DO NO WASH THAT CAR IF THE HOOD IS HOT OR THE ENGINE AS THE HEAT AND THEN THE COLD WATER WILL CRACK IT.

My brother has an FI hood on his Evo. Super light, good fitment and has held up for some time now with no hood pins. No cracking/fading either.

fiber images is top quality and usually very light compared to others on the market, fitment can be a hit or miss but if its not perfect its usually very close

i personally like my monster sports hood, has the lightweight and functionality and perfect fitment and finish

Funny to be hit or miss with the Seibon. Mine is without a doubt lighter than the stock hood holding them after hood removal, fading is minimum after 3 yrs, and fitment 100%. I'll get it re cleared someday if it gets bad.

As for Fiber Images great products. I replaced the VIS on my Teg years back with a Fiber Images and it did not fade nearly as bad as the VIS piece. Fit ment was the same between both prob 8/10
