Clutch master cylinder

Is it possible to damage the clutch master by smacking the rod around like during installation? I know it's highly doubtful but not sure. It's a new oem too.

I've had to pull the clutch master a few times cause of a problem installing a ss clutchline and cause of the tight squeeze and my big hands the rod was hitting the fire wall moving side to side.

Thanks

you meant the rod coming out of the master cylinder that the pedal attaches to? if so, unless you're smacking it with hammer-like force, no
