Possibly a dumb question but idgaf. Im getting my 05 VIII converted for e85, and im wondering:
1. how many gallons of e85 to bring for the tune
2. if theres anything special i should carry it in or if those plastic containers will do fine

i took 5 gallons for my tune. plastic gas container is fine

 

5 gallons and then just filled up in the area where you tuned? im wondering if thats too low, no?

AMS told me to bring 5 just for the tune, so more if you're going to need it to drive back.

I would bring it from wherever you're going to fill up the most, so it's the same gas quality.

 

(2) 5 gallons can's for me to be safe. Might as well if you have the extra can and assuming you aren't familiar with the area you are getting tuned.

You'll want to have the tune touched up after you run a few tanks of e85 through the car. There will be contamination due to the pump gas in the system lowering the rating.

 

I brought 2 (5) gallon jugs of E85 when I went in for my tune.

 

eh? havent heard about many people doing this although ive seen a FEW doing it, is it necessary though? im getting a map for 91 as well btw

probably an overkill but i bought two 5 gallons for the tune and another two 5 gallons for the way home lolol

 

the rating of E85 changes depending on the time of year as well winter they have less ethanol more gas to help cold starts and opposite for warmer weather. so your tune SHOULD constantly be changed to account for A/f etc. but most people will not tune or notice the difference depending on the area where you live.
