E85 and Track Weekends
For you guys that run e85 and do HPDE, time trials, or racing, how do you do it? I'd love to make the switch but the tracks I go to don't sell e85. Short of bringing a 55 gal container with me every weekend (is that even enough? haha) I wouldn't know what to do. I also feel like there must be legal issues when it comes to transporting ~55 gallons of fuel in a plastic container with me.
I did a little searching and only found this thread where 'skiracer' mentions that he lugs containers of it to the track:

Any input is more than welcome.

A small track-trailer might be nice. For fuel. Set of track wheels and tires. Aluminum jack. Air compressor. Tools. Etc.
Forget taking the 55 gal drum. Unwise; unsafe; impractical. Several small fuel cans of E85 would be much easier to handle and attract much less attention.
As more and more motorsports move to E85, I predict it will eventually be sold at many tracks.
E85 motorsport.
E85 powers Hamilton 400.
IndyCar Series runs on Ethanol.

Damn, those look like 30 gal drums to me, lol. I was getting about 90 miles on 93 per tank on the track so its looking like 60-70 now, I guess you would actually need 30 gal for a track day. I have 24 gal worth of gas cans so i should be ok.
is there a limit on how much e85 we can transport?
I called the fire department and they said I can only store 10 gallons in my storage shed.
Anything above that requires a permit

Lol, i have 25 gallons in my garage, shhh don't tell, haha I wouldn't worry about it, i'm sure there is some type of limit and them you need a permit. if you get pulled over and they question it i would think you could explain the reason and be fine.
The fire department told me indoors limit is 5 gallons
What Im just worried about is if something goes wrong,
I dont think insurance would be so happy to find the excessive amounts of fuel that caused the fire

Yeah, i hear you there. I guess you will have to pick it up on the way to the track. Maybe call your insurance company and see what they recommend. On the other hand, may not be the best idea to tell them you want to be storing massive amounts of fuel.
