It is the pressure regulator for the oil to the top part of the head (after the turbo and lifter oil feeds). I am not sure if there is a gasket that needs to be there but I do not believe so. Any shop or person who has replaced with a Kiggly pressure regulator can answer your question.

You could send a PM to RusselM (Mitsubishiparts.net sales guy) and get an answer and part number on Monday probably. They will also sell it to you for a lot cheaper than a dealership.

It is just an oil sender/sensor. Just seeing of anyone has ever looked or know or even if anyone has there valve cover off to just look if it has a gasket on it! The guy at the dealership printed me out papers showing there is no gasket and I bought a whole engine gasket kit for the build and there is no gasket in that set for it.. so I'm led to believe there is not one but my machine guy says there was! Just making sure my facts are right before I say anything

compared to my picture... it just looks like oil outlining the crease between the part and the head. no noticeable gasket though. thanks for the help and pic

It is different colors I saw another pic too but I can't tell if it is oil or a gasket! This is one of those dumb problems that are annoying lol
