did i just fry my etacs

I was trying to fix my cig lighter since it wasnt working and i was using a multimeter to check the voltage at the white connector plug and i slipped and may have bridged the wires. After this my radio speakers faded out and wont play but my cd player is working and says its playing music...my parker light indicator wont turn on..when i turn my headlights on the left one doesnt turn on and the right one blinks like a blinker...my keyless entry wont work but the power locks do work and my car wont start at all..when i try to start it i hear the fuel pump working but it wont crank to turn over...

Here is a picture of the plug i bridged... can anyone give me their advice..

etacs

You unlatch the tab on the top of the etacs ecu, then swing it down then pull it off. You're right, it's a biatch cuz you have to reach way under by the pedals to get to it. What makes it more difficult is there is a cable in the way which prevents you from pulling it straight off. What I did was remove the lower bolt on the fuse box which gives you a little wiggle room to get around that cable.

I didnt check all the ones in the car yet but would a fuse cause something like the head lights to blink instead of just turn on and the wipers to run really slow? I will check all of them asap though...

this should also serve as a warning to EVERYONE if you are going to play around with your ACC electronics with a multimeter be very very careful what you touch together... I guess it doesnt help that i was listening to music at the same time from my car stereo...lesson learned... I have a etacs unit being shipped to me as i speak thats to a great member on here stepping up and giving me a GREAT deal over a new unit which would have cost around 300$ shipped...

I'm not going to say its not the etacs but I would check all your fuses first. I have had a first hand account of a fried etacs and the symptoms are not as you described. Usually the fried etacs turns the horn full on, wipers go crazy, wishshield wash fluid dispensrs, left turn signal is permantely on. Like I said I'm not ruling it out but what you described sounds like it may just be a fuse and hopefully a cheap fix.
