I looked in my workshop manual (06) and the specs are a little different but fairly close.

coolant temp for test is the same, cranking speed spec is the same and the pressure difference is the same. (14psi)

Standard value listed in my WSM is 1000 kPa (145psi), minimum is 637 kPa (92psi)

OP, was the test done with the engine warmed up?

Was the engine hot or cold but a leak down test will also help.

My E5 compression test was 165 psi in 1 and 3 n den 162 psi in 2 n 4.

i had driven the car for 10 minutes straight before i did the test, 5 minutes passed while i gathered all the tools needed. so needless to say the engine was hot enough

ive asked more than a few tuners and they've all said that my numbers are fine.
145 psi is average on an evo 9 they say. but then again i see other ppl's results in the 160's, 170's and i start to wonder

Did you perform the test correctly? Biggest mistake is forgetting to open the throttle butterfly which will yield lower, inacurate results.

I put new piston rings in it because i though i had low compression and when i put new rings i had low compression too so i knew something was wrong and my tool was bed! My motor barely has 54k

So your psi is a bit down and your worried that running e85 will wear it out even faster right? Well yeh it will so you can crawl into the corner roll up into the fetal position and suck your thump with worry, or you can do like we did in the old days, if it's not blowing to much smoke and fowling plugs and using oil, means it's legal and it's still kicking butt well go and get your stuff done and enjoy your car!! I'f your a DIY guy, maybe when one of the things I mentioned changes then start thinking about a pull down and what budget you have and if you want to go with additional hardening ie rods, pistons, beehives, cams and maybe a bigger turbo to take advantage while the motor is down or if you don't have the budget just a set of new rings and a hone, check pistons, reseat valves then back together and off you go, when my time comes I'd wait till I could notice the power drop or oiling problem the pull it down mysel as a project and stroke it, a little DIY mild head work with behives and s2s then if the turbo was still good, keep it and do a nice torquey tune then when the turbo goes, upspec to fp red.

I just looked at a car last week. Numbers were 100 100 115 115. The car ran very well and never smoked. The owner had no clue what was done to the engine, is it possible to have different cams or pistons that would make the compression drop this low? I have been reading that 160 is the baseline.
