Looking to buy my first Evo, what can I expect for 15K?

Like the title says, I'm looking for an Evo as my first turbo car. What kind of mileage or condition of the car should I expect to get for 15k? And beside this forum, where should I look if I want to find a good deal? Thanks in advance.

Nice find. I'm hoping to find a similar deal. I would like to the car's price and tax to be around 15.

I paid $16.4k at a big dealership for my 03 with 33k miles last summer, never modded, one previous owner, only thing wrong with it was faded clear coat on the wing.

I think 15k could get you a great 03 if you're capable of going private party. I know not everyone is because private party can get tricky and complicated if you're getting a loan.

As far as where to look, I found mine on Autotrader. It's a nice place to start at least.

Sometimes on craigslist I see some going for 12k. My friend got one a few months back for 10k with 100,000 miles on the clock.

There will be very good cars for around $15k, but need to be patient and look out for the right one. Be prepared to walk away as many times as it takes. I know there should be good one like my 2003, 75k miles single owner car which is immaculate and so reliable. Unfortunately mine is not for sale.

No matter what price the Evo is, have it check out for excessive abuse, under body damage, as will as cheap body work.

15k should get you a very nice low mileage 03-04, or a nice 05-06 with around 60-80k, just make sure to shop around

You really think it's possible to find an 06 for less than 16k with that mileage range, besides on auction (which is where I will also be looking when I'm ready)?

Yeah seems like you may have been a bit eager like I am lol.. That's a bit on the high side of what I'd be willing to pay for an 05 8 with 60k. If you think about it, the person that traded your car in was probably working out a deal with the dealer for another car. They most likely only recieved between 13-14k for it as trade in value.
