We have an independent agency. Drive is no longer, well at least on this side of the country.

Actually, they are. I quoted someone in PA through Progressive Drive today. And also a couple in FL this morning as well.

That IS weird, that the rep doesn't know the product. If you can still sell Drive Insurance, you can log onto the agent site and check the news/updates by state, which would obviously show ones that they do business in. Or you can even call them at the 877 number and verify.

I'm surprised no one has said Erie insurance. I know they aren't everywhere but they are very reasonably priced and will cover repairs no matter the cost. At least that's my experience. I switched from State Farm and will never ever go back.

I didn't know that about Progressive. I have them no with my IS300 and I may end up switching once I pick an EVO up.

I had Progressive for a little bit with the Evo. When you insure you can only pick mitsubishi Lancer and not specify the Evo. I feel like they would use it against you for not disclosing the model of the lancer.

As long as they used your VIN and verified it (assuming they didn't override it), then you're fine, since the VIN specifies your exact vehicle. From the agency interface, you can select it, but there's a possibility that from your end (or maybe on insurance ID cards), the full name doesn't fit, so it just says Lancer. "Mitsubishi" is already a fairly long manufacturer name, then "Lancer Evolution" just makes it even longer.

I wouldn't even consider it. I hope the day doesnt come where insurance companies require something like this to be insured. so if you drive alittle more uppidty than you should it reflects big time in your payments....

It's unlikely to happen. The overhead costs involved with doing this for every driver would be huge for any insurance company, and the cost-benefit ratio wouldn't justify it since it's not like they'd suddenly profit more (or lose less) by a significant margin after factoring in their investment.
