Doesn't the s2000 and Evo X have dual exhausts?

Either way I concur......terrible idea.

Seen a pic floating around on here with one....had and after market rear too to accomodate. Didnt look too bad either.

Just an FYI, the X is a 4 banger with a dual. Not a true dual, but dual none the less.

You DON'T want to do a 'true dual' exhaust! It's power-robbing for one thing...Secondly, replacement parts cost X2!! Nothing works better than a single pipe exhaust...It's MORE direct and MORE efficient! I used to sponsor two cars: 1) a 3000GT-VR 4 and 2) A Stealth R/T Turbo for road racing. Both these guys took off their factory dual exhaust for ONE, single pipe exhaust. The cars were dyno'd and made MORE horsepower than their dual pipe exhaust...

Now if your doing it for the 'looks', well then sadly go right ahead. But why rob your turbo, etc. of a clean, efficient 'exit'?!

it wouldnt be dual exhaust anyway, it be one pipe with two tips at the end if you wanted that, but why, no power gain, b more for look and added weight as stated before, and probably wouldnt look right on the 8 or 9 as they didnt come with dual tips like the X does, and plain and simple, there will never ever TRULY be a true dual exhaust on a 4 banger, one exhaust manifold=one exhaust pipe coming off the manifold V8=two exhaust manifolds or header as they like to call them=two exhaust pipes=true dual exhaust, any questions?

This one had dual exhaust tips done by ARC in titanium. Looked pretty nice.

I'm still trying to figure out how it robs power. It goes down 1 pipe and splits into 2 mufflers. That's it.

And you're comparing a STOCK exhaust system to something either custom or something they bought to gain HP because it might be catless, HFC, or bigger piping.

To OP, biggest thing I can think of about dual muffler tip exhaust is it's more quiet than a single tip. Take a TBE with a testpipe for example. The piping goes straight to 1 muffler. Of course it's going to be loud. Now if you have a resonator, it might quiet it down a little bit and if you put another muffler in, it might make it more quiet than the resonator. Now, if you run dual muffler tips, it might be as loud/quiet as the double muffler on one piping, if not, the same.

I see a lot of unnecessary weight being added just for sheer looks. Although I can agree that it makes the car look more symmetrical but not a route I would personally take.

I've always thought the FQ came with a single exhaust, also I've never seen a dual rear marker light set up too. Looks kind of interesting though.
