Typical track times?
So what are you guys running through the quarter and with what setup? Just kinda interested to see what works well. Never tracked mine and trying to gauge what to expect. I've got walbro pump, hks cams fidanza gears, forge mbc, evo 9 bov, drop in open filter, mishimoto radiator, 22 psi, stock turbo wastegate etc, act clutch. It's an Evo 8 MR. 6 speed. ~330 awhp. ideally I want 11's I'm sure it's not there quite yet
ive seen built monster power cars run 13's and ive also seen my buddys saturn with nos crank a 14 its all in the driver.
With your mods set a goal to get into the 12's consistantally then work from there. Luanching the car on the track is much differnt then on the street and also there will ussually be a ton of people watching so your going to have a little bit of nerviousness to overcome.

go to https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/drag-racing-16/ for most of the drag racing discussions - good list of times for stockish cars too.
Well I've tracked my lightning a number of times and I know these cars are a whole other ball game haha but the nervousness won't be an issue. Yeah I was hoping to be consistent 12.30's or so with good launches. Who knows we will see
If you can drive well, mid 12's at about ~110-113mph. If you don't launch or are new to drag racing, low 13's at about the same MPH. Just a guestimate based on other evo's I've seen. I went 12.98 at 109 with a turbo back, LICP, buschur tune, 22 psi, and 91 octane for your reference.
We will see! Haha I'm no self proclaimed driver by no means. I was just comparing it to my truck. It went 12.64 @ 109 weighing 4500 # which is a flying brick in the 1/4 lol. I know they are completely different set ups. Well I will just have to see what happens I'll prolly go in the next few weeks. What kind of launch should I go with? It's a six speed mr with act clutch like I said and I've heard the trannys are weak in them. I thought at my power level I wouldn't have anything to worry about with a 5k launch? But my luck is bad.

hmm i was planning on just going and doing a 5k launch and perhaps a 5500 if it will allow or will hook up. Are you guys just dumping from that rpm on twin discs or slipping? I just dont wanna rip anything apart haha and ive never tracked one of these. Ive read some things up on the track launches and stuff and from what i can gather it seems like maybe a 5k or so launch dump and 7k shift would be typical?? Hopefully tranny doesn't break haha
thats my problem with buying a used and modded car haha i know it has hks 280 cams and fidanza gears i verified that but idk about the springs and retainers idk if they are stock or not. Do people usually switch them with a cam setup?
I think people usually shift at 8k if they have a tune. You should be able to get mid to low 12s. To launch you just rev and let it hit the 2 step limiter at 5.5k. Slip the clutch until it starts to engage and as soon as you start to move dump it the rest of the way.
okay awesome man thats basically what i had taken from the write ups. People scare me with the "weak 6 speed" talk haha. At least i got the clutch i guess. Our track hooks well. How come people aren't turning more 1.6x's 60' times? Just curious and not saying that i can but i see alot of ppl turning 1.7x's and i figured that being awd the 60' would be outta this world?
You would get better responses in the drag section. All kinds of good info from peeps that run the 1/4 alot. Not trying to be a di€|< so please don't take it that way. Just there is alot more specific info in that section. From the title I thought you were talking about actual track times, not 1/4 times.
