do evo 9 valve covers work on a evo 8 motor?

do evo 9 valve covers work on a evo 8 motor?
pretty much what the title says.. someone is giving me a spare 9 cover that i want to shave and powdercoat but wondering if it will work fine with no problems.. is the gasket kit the same?

Pretty sure it wont work, saw one in the FS threads that was back up cause he didnt know it was a IX valve cover and had to send it back to the guy cause he had an XIII

No it wont work, the valve covers are different because of the mivec.

I swear I saw a build thread where some guy was using a 9 Cover on a 8. I'm sure he is just making a custom block off plate for the Mivec or something like that...
