Selling an Evo... Do you agree?

I was wondering what everyones opinion on selling an Evo is that has been heavily modded. If you werent going to bother with doing a full "back to stock" tear down is asking 1/2 of the cost of all the aftermarket parts on top of the value of the car out of line?

More or less I'm curious if this is correct as I was told this once by someone.

lets say 10-15k for the car plus 50% of 30-40k=15-20k.
I wouldnt pay 25-35k. lot of variables come into play also. Quality of mods/install. Car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

$10-15k is low for the car when I dont have mileage listed and private party mine is worth at least $22k bone stock.

As far as build quality it was built by AWD who is known for rock solid builds and Mike would vouch for it being built and always serviced with him. The parts are high/higher end absolutely no knock off junk (see sig). The car itself is super clean as well...

ttt, I want to see more poll votes to get an idea of what the community thinks.

thanks

I say put it back to stock, almost everyone here in EvoM wants everything for nothing....

Put it back to stock and if anything trade it in.

i like this information right here or sell it for 25-30 range but again adjust your price per offers that come in but as stated above you will make plenty of that money back if you part it out. Personally if I go to sell mine im not parting out **** im putting one price and adjust according to the market and let it go. not going though the trouble of a part out then rebuild back to stock forum.

If you have installation/mod receipts from a reputable shop and the parts are good pieces then thats probably reasonable. I paid more for my IX MR because the guy had documentation and top notch JDM parts.

If you have the documents of the build sure. Try for more.

But on this forum most people want stuff cheap.

Good Luck with the sale.

This is just my 2 cent but i paid 27500 for just my Evo IX SE! Im am 100% satified with what i bought her for. It was already modded with some hella tastful mods that I would have bought later on down the road and was garage kept and WELL taken care of. She had 25950 miles on her when i bought her. Theres people out there that will buy a modded Evo as long as you took care of her. I could tell the owner of my vehicle took care of her because of the condition she was in! So if your vehicle is in excelent/Good condition keep her in her modified state, someone will buy her who lover her mods!

You will definitely get more money back by selling the car as stock and then selling the aftermarket parts on the side.

It really depends on the buyer, some guys will pay the money for the proper tastefully done mods. If you did put it back to stock you could sell your parts very quickly in the market place. There are always guys looking to buy parts 24/7 here on the site, so your stuff should go quickly.

to the right buyer, but most people aren't gonna pay much above the kbb value of a car heavily modded or not, unless of course you find "that buyer" that just really wants the car and is willing to pay above book value

I wish I parted out my ix before I sold it...I had every tasteful mod in the book and still got low-balled to death

Aftermarket parts never increase the value of a car.

The best you can do is pull the parts and resell them.

In NZ it's really difficult to sell heavily modded late model cars. The only people that can afford the car want to build their own car. The only ones interested in buying them modded will low ball to hell and back. If you're interested in getting the most out of a sale go back to stock.
