Broke my CF lip...
Broke my CF lip...
well.. it was inevitable i think...
pulled into my buddies driveway last night, and there was a big pot hole in the section of pavement before the sidewalk.. and the left front tire went in it, the lip caught the edge of the sidewalk and broke it off ... weird part is i NEVER pull into his driveway when i go over to his place.. but oh well what can ya do.
anywho heres some pics.. i'll be ordering another one shortly... unless i can find an authentic Raliart CF Lip for a decent price.

That sucks so bad. First cf one I had I had for about a month and hit a raccoon. It busted the lip and broke the bolt holding the bumper up on the passenger side. Needless to say I went wit the same style lip just in urethane. To much road kill around here to throw money into new lips once a year if not more.

My last Evo 9 was lowered on Swift sport springs and I ended up tearing my SE lip off when I went to pull out from a somewhat steep inclinded drive and hit a drain that was right in front of the exit. I wasn't happy at all about it, but I'm getting ready to lower my current evo. I definately plan on being more careful with it this time around.
If I werE you I would go to home depot buy two packages of jb weld and some sand paper (15$max) then some home depots let you rent heat guns ( your gonna needc a heAt gun , if you wanna buy one there only 30$) then I would remove the lip completely off your car. Then place
The lip as how it use to sit (you tape to hold it in place ) then get the jb weld and apply Alot. Then I would let it dry . Then sand and apply again if nessarty. Then seach google and buy some carbon fiber 3m vinyl. Apply and I bet it will work. I have broken my lip (parking to close to curbs / im on coils ) atleast 4 times but all I do is peal the vinyl off , reaply jb weld an it holds up. After working with the 3m vinyl the material molds with stregth it hard to explain till you work with it and with a heat gun. If this sound of interest I'll post pics of my lip and more details . It total time it only takes a day.

IMO, 3M Vinyl is like having a V6 mustang with a Stage 3 Rousch body kit.. yeah sure it looks like the real thing, but you really hope no one asks you if it is.
I think im just gonna zip tie it for the time being until i get a new one.. i mean why not whats it gonna do? break again? lol.
Side note, anyone know where i could find a Raliart lip?.. the fitment of my Rexpeed one was probably a 7/10.. could of stood to be a little better around the sides. im assuming a Raliart one would be a little bit better?
