Problem with Gauge Lighting

I have some VDO gauges which are attached to the illumination wire on the radio harness. My problem is that the lights only turn on when the headlights are on, and not just the parking lights. Did I hook something up wrong???

If there is power going to that wire when the parking lights are on it should work. I wired my gauges into the dimmer switch for my gauge cluster. That way they all can be dimmed if I want.

Use A voltage light. Pretty sure I tapped mine into the illuml. wire off the radio harness, not sure though.

for the price and accuracy they are great, but it bugs me that they only light with the headlights and not the parking lights
