Wow at the comparrisons that evo one looks exactly the same size as a honda filter real small. I just bought an M1-110 and now i think i will be returning it for the M1-104. That looks more like the oem one, Ive also used Denso filters that are about the same size. Good to know

So is the pressure valve in the s2000 the same as an OEM evo filter?

+1 on this. Especially when the Wix costs about $4 and I have them where I work.

Also, why is everyone worried about size when the filters can still flow the same GPM regardless? They can also filter the same amount of microns.

The m1-104 is a stealth filter, the m1-104 is the same size as the oem evo filter. The m1-104 is also a s2000 filter. The m1-110 or m1-108 it the mobil filter that the mobil book says is for the evo, but both are a smaller capacity than the oem evo filter. So alot of people use a stealth m1-104 filter which also fits the s2000. So the Honda brand s2000 filter also fits the evo and is the correct capacity. Just a FYI for people that live d

Also, does anyone think it makes a difference that the s2000 filter has 6 holes vs the mobil 1 m1-104 has 5? The wholes are the same size just the oem s2000 filter has more.

I remember the 110 sized filters being listed for the '06 Evolution in the parts/cross reference books. Personally I've always ran the largest capacity filter that matched the pressure valve rating optimal for whatever the vehicle was. For my ct9a I've always stuck to oem.

I have a box of Mighty Oil filters part# 4455 laying around and I think they fit the S2000.

Do you I should use it on my evo?

More media. The bypass valve opens when the media becomes plugged. When the bypass is open you then have the same condition as no filter.

The short fat filter is the size of the OEM Evo filter. It's built like that for a reason. The long skinny filter is a lancer filter. Mobil doesn't care, they just say it's for all lancers. You can buy any lancer filter and it will fit your evo.

One of the reasons the Evo specific filter is shorter is for ground clearance. You can use whatever you want. It's your car.

I'm tempted to say all the filter guide books specify the little filter but I'd probably get nailed on that. So, all the guide books I've seen specify the small filter. I know the STP and Purolator books do. And, yeah, I too remember that my car came with a larger filter than what you get using a guide book.

BTW, I also run the Dodge Stealth filter on my WRX. So, it fits there too. The guide book for the WRX results in a small filter.
