Headlight Help

The passenger's side low beam went out on my 03 evo last night. I thought it was just a bulb, but I swapped in a new bulb and it was still out. So I switched the driver's side and the passenger's side bulbs to make sure the new one worked and it did. I also swapped the fuses driver's side and the passenger's side bulbs and that didn't change anything. The high beams and fog llgihts still work though. Has anyone had this problem? Am I forgetting something? Thanks!!

Squirrel? I have seen several people with chewed engine wires from those damn things.

I hadn't thought of that. The car had been sitting for a little over a week before I drove it last night. I took a look at the wire to the low beam but it seemed in tact (it is protected by a metal mesh). I wonder if it could be before that.

I checked the wiring leading up to the headlight and everything seems ok. From reading through the service manual it seems like the "controller" on the light has gone bad. Has anyone had this problem?

you say fog lights so i'm assuming it's the jdm headlights and hid? maybe the ballasts is bad.

They are HID and I think it must be the ballast/controller...sucks because they are damn expensive.

similar problem on my 03 man, your best is remove the connector on the harness spray some electronic cleaner reinstall it and will the connection with the light switch on, could be bad connection... shake the bulb a little listen for a rattling noise.

mine ended up bein a loose connection but its due to the connector on the harness bein partially cracked and broken therefore, you can wiggle it and itll turn on but other then that its hit n miss..

Not sure about the factory Evo HID ballasts, but aftermarket ones tend to make some noise when they are turned on. If I remember correctly it's a tiny bit louder at first until the bulb warms up. Do you hear anything when you turn the HID's on?
