Congrats shiv Someone should shoot this result to the evo hall of fame.

BTW: Is this the faster USDM Evolution? Can you imagine 1.7 60ft's and a shot of nitrous! Wow

I dunno what the record is. There is so many qualifations these days for different catagores (stock, built, no nos, with nos, etc,.)

Yes, 1.7 60' should help get the car into the 11.3-11.4 range but that would require a bit more practice and/or a more exerienced drag racer which I am not At this hp level, I see no need to run NOS. Proper system matching and actual tuning on a proper dyno is worth far more than a shot of NOS.

In fact, at the configuration the car is currently in, simply taking off the factory air filter and box for a more appropriate high flow intake is worth 35whp on our dyno. Might go back to the strip next weekend with larger diameter tires, a higher rev limit and a new intake. Maybe a better driver as well...

cheers,
Shiv

Good job bro..

Just one quesion.. In one post you said you had.. "Stage 2 turbo system" ..

I got that from your post in which you stated.. "Oh yeah, the car is running a completely stock never-openend block (not even the head studs or rod bolts have been upgraded), stock heads (no porting, stock springs, stock valves, etc,) 272/272 cams, cam gears, Stage 2 turbo system, 680cc injectors, fuel pump and full non-sig exhaust. Basically a 100% stock engine with simple bolt ons."

Can you explain what that is..

Thank you sir..

Stage 2 = Garrett Gt3037 and tubular manifold plus the appropriate piping to bolt it up.

Yes. The car is running a stock intake box with stock filter. This was priority with the Stage 2 kit since I wanted the underhood appearance to be stock-like. No need to flaunt what's under the hood. Especially in CA where underhood inspections (all of which I've passed ) is as common as speeding tickets.

This is also why the equal length manifold is designed to work the factory heatshield. Once the heatshield is installed, the header is almost completely hidden. The turbo is also mounted lower than most kits, making it nearly impossible to see. I'll post up pics on Monday and show you what I mean. To the untrained eye (most police and emissions officers), it looks completely stock. No visible bling whatsoever

Cheers,
Shiv

Now THIS is a clear show of what HP levels the car is running. If it was bouncing off the rev limiter at 122 MPH you could probably gain 1 or 2 mph by shifting to 5th. But in any case, what dyno numbers are you getting that correspond to this trap speed?

Going back next week is an excelent idea, people can't talk **** about power levels when you have good trap speeds to back up your claims

Keith

PS: I will still be getting a dynoflash, just apreciate good results from anyone!

Interesting read indeed.

Tell me, if this was such a "monumental waste of a day" why is it that you're considering going back this weekend for another shot?

Also, C16, XEDE race gas map, upgraded turbo, big cams, and exhaust combined with a stock dirty air filter? Is this a practice in futility? Or maybe just tuning safely?
