I dont know if your set of Red. But they have a 05 white, 06 Black SE. They have a little higher miles around 80k but if there clean i would look into those. From the internet site, the prices looks around the same as the Red MR. Good luck man!
Thanks for ur input man! I want to own an Evo finally hehe.

They said they would allow ME or my mechanic to do a compression test on the motor etc and bring a mechanic to look at it. They dont have the tools to run the compression test on motor so I need someone who is very knowledgeable about Evos and is a mechanic who has tools to run comp. test on motor to come with me. The place is in Queens, NY, ill obviously pay whoever comes with me. Must have tools to rjn comp test!! PM me for more details if ur down to help a new evo owner!!!

Awesome, glad they will let you do that. Depending on if its an evo 8 or evo 9 the compression test results will be a bit different so don't freak out. As long as all cylinders are around 10 psi or so from eachother. You could probably do a quick search and find what the compression test results should be around for each. Evo 8s are generally 25psi or so higher then the 9s.

The Brembos just look really faded which is a known issue.

Good luck with it man.

thats BS about the seats... i've seen plenty of evo 8 MRs and they ALL came with the blue recaros.. before anyone asks how do i know?? because i own an 05 evo 8 myself. the mileage on the car seems nice, its hard to find a lower mileage one.

As for getting a evo 9 dont let the baloney smokers fool you my friend. my car has ACD as well as the 10.5 hotside on the turbo, the only thing good about a 9 is the front fascia, if you plan on having a car with less mods and a sporty daily then jump on a 9.

If your looking for a car to make alot of power past 300-400 mark then continue on with your hunt for an evo 8. and yes you can get a better deal then 22 thousand for an 8 MR but remember the 8 MR's are actually the RARE ones they arent like the 9 MRs that are floating around all over the place

Yes, I may be new to buying an Evo, but im no newb...as u stated I can see the button for the ACD and I know for a fact the 05 evos have ACD. They have pics up now of the 9 in white with a black lip, with lower mileage, but not as clean. Idk, this red evo viii just looks so nice...

so yea, bump for someone in the NY area who wants to come with me to look at it and do compression tests on the motor etc... please pm me.

No need to replace them when you can just have them re coated or re paint them yourself.

I'd pass.. Who in their right mind would mount a Super AFC II on top of the steering column?
Or even use one at all, for that matter.
A dipsh*t, that's who.

I'd also like to point out people talking about how cheap you can get Evos. Some areas you just can't find them very cheap. And for the most part people who don't know about EvoM and other forums are probably going to pay top dollar for some of these cars. I know a local dealership sold an 05 with like 90k miles in ok shape for around $18,500 here. It had a big retarded wing on it and everything.

Good prices on forums does not mean those prices are easily doable outside of the forums.

Just wanted to add one thing to this. The IXs also have a different turbo compressor housing than even the 05 VIIIs. The 10.5 hotside does help, but you'll still be able to get more power out of a IX turbo. How much more is arguable but I think the average is 20-30 whp/wtq.

[QUOTE=Bones Malone;9427658]Is the Evo 9 really that much better tho?? Thanks for ur input btw bro

i use to have 8 and i traded in for 9 so i seen both sides of world, i wont say much better it just since u r spending that kind of money u should get atleast newer model plus i think evo 9 front end look better than 8 and also when u gonna mod them u can gain more power out of 9 with same mod that u would do to 8 .
