major problem or simple fix

Okay, so today i go to replace my exhaust manifold gasket today and get it on without major problems at first. I get everything put back together and then go to screw in my banjo bolt for the oil feed line that bolts into the head and it never tightens. Should i try to heli-coil it before i actually pitch out the money and buy a new head or whats some suggestions?

I doubt helix coil will work on the head for the feed line. If you truly can not tighten the bolt, then i would suggest getting a ss oil line.

I had to remove it because I needed to slide out the Turbo and then it wouldn't reach when I tried putting it back on so I loosened it from the Turbo and then tightened it all back up only to find out it got cross threaded from the beginning.. im switching to an fp black soon so ill just run the other oil feed line setup

i would suggest a heli-coil of the same threads since it is cheaper, the heli-coil i think can hold up to about 20 ft lbs.

I had this happen from taking my turbo out too many times. I went with the FP oil feed kit that taps into the oil filter housing. It gets rid of that oil feed line altogether and plugs the head. It will make installation easier as well.

Doesn't FP supply a short bolt to go in the hole? The thread is still stripped and the supplied bolt won't fit tightly. Your idea was the first thing I thought of except I still don't think it will work.

It's longer than the banjo bolt. Mine was stripped and the FP bolt went in.

English Racing heli-coiled both mine and a buddies oil feed line hole after we stripped it. It can be done...

I used Heli coil on one of my 1G DSM's and it worked great. So i would go that route or get the FP bolt.
