A ride in that 630whp Evo will make your head spin. Mines pushing close to 600whp and its just crazy on the street. BTW, I'm very active on IWSTI. Are you on that site? I still like the subis, but don't think I'll ever go back to owning another one unless I could still keep my Evo too.

NASIOC is so much more active than IWSTI, so I rarely go on IWSTI.

Having built both evos, and sti's I'll take an evo hands down any day. The STI boxer motor sounds cool, has great down low torque, but everything on it is a giant pita. wanna change your plugs in 10 minutes? forget it. Wanna make 600whp on stock motor? forget it. The STI does come with a better 6speed tranny, but it's not geared for drag racing at all. The only arena where I think the STI is better than the evo is exhaust note.

I had a 8cm TD06-20g STi before I got my IX and honestly the only thing I miss about the STi was the 6 speed tranny. I used to get bummed out at first about not having the boxer rumble but with a nice high quality exhaust I now prefer the exhaust note on my evo.

I don't mean to bump an old thread, just thought I would update everybody on what I decided to do.

New bits going on the car:
-- Perrin FMIC Kit
-- KSTech 83mm CAI
-- Rotated GT3076R .82 hotside
-- P&L Motorsports Rotated kit
-- 44mm Tial EWG with supertrapp welded onto dump tube
-- Custom catch cans
-- Short block with Manley Turbo Tuff I-beams, ACL +.001" rod bearings and STD size mains, MAPerformance H11 head studs (similar to ARP L19), brand new case halves, brand new nitride crankshaft, and Manley 99.5mm pistons - built by me.
-- Mildly ported and bowl blended heads with Supertech +1mm intake and inconel exhaust valves, and Supertech dual valves springs 82lb and retainers, new seals and keepers - work done by Port Flow Designs in LA.

Brand New stuff.

Perrin FMIC. Waiting for a motor

GT3076R .82, only good for about 500whp on an STi

P&L huge uppipe with Tial 44mm EWG + supertrapp (basically a muffler)

This block is built and for sale!

After the motor is broken in:
-- HTA86
-- Top feed conversion with FiveO 2000cc or 2200cc injectors
-- TurboXS Fuel Rails
-- Dual walbro 255 setup
-- Perrin Equal Length Headers
-- Appropriate clutch for the power/tq
-- GSC S2 cams
-- Rotated Intake Manifold with custom I/C piping

Picking up the heads tomorrow and I'm also waiting on a friend to torque plate hone my cylinders for the Manley pistons.

That would be sad, haha, but no. I will be swapping the 30r with an FP HTA GT3586r.My buddy ran 10.00 @ 137 in his STI with that turbo. There needs to be more fast subaru's.

Plus, I've been finding all of the best deals and doing the short block myself, so I really haven't spent much, so far. *crosses fingers*
