nope. the bottom cushion comes off super easy (there are two white pulls underneath the cushion) and the back cushion is also fairly simple to remove.

its funny i had a argument with some guy that said that he is 100% positive the seats fold down in the evos.... i kept telling and telling him no they DO NOT... then he still doubted me and said he was going to go home and go online and look it up for sure... because there is no way they would make a 4 door car and not have the rear seats fold down.... Well i told him... go ahead and IF you do find a way or there is a switch that im missing... then there will be alot of surprised evo owners.

Not even my friends STI's rear seats folds down.

fricken pointless arguments.

I was surprised they didn't fold down tbh. Would of made moving my 50" flat screen a lot easier lol. I wonder if like you could make your own little contraption to make the seats fold.
About subs this one guy took out his rear cupholder/armrest and put two 8" (I think) subs in it's spot.

Yes it seems like i will do something like that as well... but i will probably make a opening where the armrest sits when its up/close..... and when the armrest comes down there will be some kind of set up there.

They don't fold down, but the seat cushion can be removed by pulling on the plastic hooks beneath them next to your legs. The back rest is held on by three bolts. Remove those and slide the back rest upwards to remove it. There are metal hooks that help keep the foam seat in place that do not allow it to just be pulled forward.

They don't fold down because there is a large brace built into the chasis directly behind the rear seat.

I'd wager you could probably acquire the hinges and such off of a "regular" lancer, and convert them to folding down?

I did that with a Mirage on my E5... worked fine...
