That's also true, I use a hallman manual boost controller. It a non bleeder type MBC. I would use that type if you are going to tee into the BOV line, which most people do.

That is stage 1 of my cars build. Stage 2 will come later when I do injectors, fuel pump and 272 cams w/upgraded valvetrain and cam gears (maybe).

Check out the Grimmspeed MBC for sure - it will work for you PERFECTLY, especially if you don't plan on switching between e85 and pump gas constantly.
My primary concern for a MBC is that with wild temperature fluctuations, it has trouble accounting for the changes in the pressure (atmospheric). That was why I was primarily looking into an EBC. This shop has suggested that the stock ECU is perfectly capable of boost control (which I'm sure it is). But I guess I'm just worried about the lack of control that leaves me?

See the next post (sorry for double)

OH! He also mentioned that I could get an "upgraded solenoid" and be able to run more boost, but otherwise with the stock fuel pump and without the solenoid, 20 is the limit.

Is he referring to the solenoid that the ECU's boost controller uses to control the boost then? Why aren't more people just using ECU boost control if it's so capable?

When he says an upgraded solenoid I instantly think of the link I posted to the Grimmspeed 3 port electronic boost control solenoid. It takes the place of your stock one and you are able to control boost through the tuning process. But once it's set you can't adjust it UNLESS you go back for a tune (or tune it yourself). The other thing I know is that many people will put in a GM EBCS from say, a Chevy Cobalt SS. when I was in the Subaru world this was huge, and I never understood or asked why. If I could get a Grimmspeed one for $25 more and have WAY more options for boost, why would I waste my time and money on a stock GM thing? I'm sure some more advanced members on here can jump in on the GM thing, but I never got into it.

Also - with the MBC from Grimmspeed be aware of it's 250 point locking system. This MBC is meant for you to find what boost you want and it will keep it that way. I am picking mine up this weekend, I live about 20 minutes from Grimmspeed it's pretty handy!

Why do you want to be so complicated for 300 whp? I have a $50 Hallman boost controller making 340whp on a stock 8 turbo.
