Much smoother shifts and you get into each gear quickly. It's hard to explain, but it makes a world of a difference. Blox makes some nice weighted knobs, that weigh about 1lb each and come with exact thread sizes for direct screw on. I have an ARC one myself, but they have been discontinued for a while and cost 3x more than the blox (not much of a difference besides the bling factor).

Well I have a short shifter and shift bushings. And ky shifts are extremely notchy haha

as long as it keeps the car clean and doesn't take away from OEM quality it doesn't matter how cheap the part is....
