Whats the Rarest EVO 8/9 Factory Made?
Personally, I think 2005 Electric Blue VIII's are pretty rare as I have rarely seen any for sale or even owned on the forums.
Hey I own a 2005 Electric Blue VIII SSL (which I'm trying to sell). I had to factory order it thought they found one on a boat like I wanted so I didn't have to wait too long. One point rare does not necessarily mean worth more, some "rare" packages are better known as "undesirable"

In Japan there's usually a few available at the car dealerships.
outside of japan it's much harder to find one because it was a JDM only release and only 2500 made! it seems there are a few imports in europe, jamaica and NZ. not sure about the states!
All evo's are rare
Whoever thinks that there are no rare evo's is clearly mistaken. Most vehicles are produced by the tens of thousands. We're talking 60-90,000 accords, corollas and such. A corvette is considered a "rare" car based on the math. They produce around 12,000 a year. You are probably thinking, I see corvettes all the time! Either way, they are considered rare based on production numbers. 30-40,000 for mustang and camaro's. To put this into perspective, there were around 5-7k EVO's produced per generation(12k evo 6's). Any EVO you see is rare. With crash reports, the older the evo the more rare it is. So lets say since 2003, there are maybe 60k evo's in the entire world since 1992(random guess, probably generous). Toyota recently sold it's 30 MILLIONTH corolla. There have been 1.5 million corvettes ever made. http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/cor.../fact_2010.pdf is a good resource for data about their production numbers. evo's barely make the fact sheet because they don't make that many. Mitsubishi motors only sold 1.5 million total vehicles in 2007. probably around 10 million today. Food for thought.
